I wonder if he was also in favour of Ken Bates taking over. Seems like the Star's willing to print anything negative that's said, regardless of whether or not that person has a direct involvment. I think I'll phone the Star and tell them that my neighbour's wife's hairdresser's cousin thinks that it's not a right good idea.

he's not the only person to ask piggy's to say NO. and I think they are right myself. all these promises but NOTHING to back them up. I'd be very scared if this was happening at the lane, I mean come on he wont even have a meeting with the piggyites.. what's he got to hide

It's a risk, of course it is. But so is every takeover of a club. And as I said, he does have massive teeth.

I have heard a number of conspiracy theories regarding this takeover over the last few days. The main one seems to state that Geoff Sheards backer is actually Dennis Hobson.

Other rumours incude it being Dave Allen as his backer trying to get more control of the club.

As a Blade I would be extremely concerned if this was happening at The Lane. However I also agree with most of the posting regarding the article in the Star whereby Owls are stating the reporters should just keep their mouths shut if they only have negative things to say.

How do you know he's got nothing to back them up? Are you deeply involved in the legal side of the takeover, or are you going on what a few bitter nobody's have said in the star?

Rumours though. Bad one's at that. Dave Allen has already said he has nothing to do with future plans for the club. Again, we don't know the ins and outs of the matter as we aren't actually involved in the takeover. I'll trust that those actually in talks with Geoff Sheard are the ones with the knowledge of what is actually going on.

Wouldn't you be worried though if this was happenin at the lane. As a blade I would. The man is the figurehead for a consortium, what if one or two of the people in the consortium have had enough after a couple of months and decide to pull out. Its back to square one. Sheard clearly has not the got the cash on his own so this is what you might come up against. Thank heavens we have Kev Macabe

sheard must have something to back it up or wouldnt wednesdayite have been recommended to vote no. the star do seem to print anything negative, i for 1 wont be listening to anything its printing, good or bad. as for being worried about whats happening i'll take the chance, cant be any worse than the board we had

becuase if he had he'd show his hand to ALL members of SWFC, there's to many hidden items in this, and i can see the entire fan base ganging up on piggyites beacuse they sold the club up poo creek without a paddle.

P.s UNITED has been taken over it happened in a month!! yes it was still part of the McCabe business however the deal has been done.

Wednesday and Wednesdayite have nothing to lose at this moment in time, the club is in debt with no chairman or board of directors, so what is the point in not selling ?
In case no-one has noticed football in this country is on the verge of eating it's own arse ! We can argue on here for our respective clubs but will either have a chance of competing in the Premiership without a big money backer (which of course Mr Mcabe is not) ?

Couldn't agree more.

Like it, or lump it, Sheffield football is second rate for a good many years to come. Sad, but true.

Both Sheffield clubs at the moment are *****. United think they are Brazil, but they're not ..... they're Championship (could soon be Premiership) *****.
