According to my bus driver this evening, when his colleague was driving through the Manor, kids threw bricks at the bus and smashed a window It was one of the SCT buses, which is now out of action for a month, apparently.
It's not just that it's stupid, it could have really serious consequences too

That's exactly what the driver said, too.

Yep, it takes real brains to smash-up where you live or damage services to your community. I would blame the parents, but in most cases they are just as bad.
One day we will earn that this kind of scum need nothing more than a good hiding rather than a hug and a free holiday.

It happen's all the time, I drive for stagecoach and on my last trip into Bradway recently I had a youth throw a claw hammer through the side window next to the buggy bay, luckly it was late at night so the bus was empty otherwise someone could get seriously hurt. The youths just don't care they see it as a laugh, but a side window for a bus does cost big money! i was informed its over £800 for a full length window as they have to be strenghtened by law, then there is the fitting cost's too.

Not too long ago we were driving home from Dronfield through Jordanthorpe when our car was nearly hit by a brick that some kids lobbed at a bus going the opposite way. It just missed the bus and landed on the road smack in front of us. The kids looked a bit panicked and scarpered, so I presume they draw some shaky line between throwing rocks at a bus and targeting a private vehicle. The murky morals of teenagers, eh?

lets brig borstals back and let the punishment fit the crime
if you drop litter that is not a criminal offence it is civil offence that is how the government are fudging the crime static.

It's scary if you happen to be on a bus when this happens. Last time I was near Manor Park something got thrown at the front of the bus, luckily it didn't come through and hitting the driver in the face but he was really lucky as he had to stop to spit bits of glass out of his mouth.

It's happened twice to me in the past year.
Once I was sat with my back to the window that got shattered and was very lucky not to have glass stuck in my back for weeks.
Kids are pathetic for doing this.

Shame they don't strengthen them to the point where the brick/hammer bounces back and hits the little darling right between the eyes.....now that would be payback at it's best!
