To the plant thief of Ecclesfield,

Whoever the person is that keeps stealing my mums expensive plants that she loves, I recommend you knock it on the head because if I see you doing it, I won't call the police, I'll walk out and put my head through your nose and stamp on your face whilst you're on the ground.

[Swearing removed]

My friend had problems with people helping themselves to the tubs and pots outside her house. She got some long metal L-shaped spikes like tent pegs, and put them through the drainage holes in the bottom of the pots and into the ground before planting up. It doesn't make the pots immovable, just more tricky to quickly whisk away! It's been a pretty good deterent so far - none nicked this year.

Get yourself one of those cheap Micromark CCTV cameras. They are about £25 from the B&Q warehouse on Queens road. That way you can catch the thieving gits in the act.

Or you could use metal pots and wire them up to the mains... heh heh.

Some went from a municipal plant area in Crosspool - a sign went up to say they'd call the police!

Yes, and when the postman touches them you will enjoy a stay at Her Majesties Pleasure...
