Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families. This year is Marie Curie Cancer Care's 60th Anniversary and we simply could not have reached this significant milestone without the amazing support, hard work and commitment of our volunteers. We're always looking to welcome new volunteers to our organisation and in particular at the moment we're looking for musicians to help out at the BUPA Great Yorkshire Run on Sunday September 7th 2008.
We have over 500 runners in our Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Team in this race - you may even have family and friends who are running with us?
This Year Mare Curie Cancer Care are the charity of the year for the BUPA Great Yorkshire Run and beaucase of that we have a fantastic supporter's marquee at the end of the race where we can welcome back our tired runners after the race, give them a massage and some well deserved refreshment.
The atmosphere is going to be absolutely fantastic on the day but what we think would make it even better is some live music from a couple of jazz musicians or a small brass band to really give the runners a boost and something for all particpants and their supporters to enjoy. Are you in a band like this and would you and a couple of friends like to volunteer to help us out on the day in the supporter's marquee by providing some lively backdrop music?
If you fancy helping us out or would like more information in general about Marie Curie Cancer Care, either send me a PM or give us a call in the local fundraising office on 0114 279 3010. We looking forwrad to hearing from you!
