got metal gear solid 4 home at 6pm decided to go to the online part first it asks you to download an update on the ps3 via peer-2-peer its now 21:20 im at 68% still downloading YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN so the game im sure is fantastic but if your getting it at midnight make sure your not working early oh and theres an 8 min install to the hd before this which is quiet funny it shows warning about not playing when tired and the dangers of sitting too close to the tv as its doing this old snake sparks up a fag and smokes it while you wait your 8 mins its bad to sit next to your tv but hey go smoke a fag classic

The first MGS was great, every one since then has been crap. I hear there are 90 minutes worth of cut scenes. Whatever happened to games being all about gameplay?

its a lot of arsing about an update to play online shouldnt take (what im going to estimate) 4 & half hours i like my 360 put the game in select live kill people simple
the 90 min cut scene is the ending

I'm assuming because the game hasn't been officially released yet that there aren't any peers with the file you want.

So, despite the update issue you had the game is worth picking up then (I have enjoyed all the game so far in the series, although Snake Eater not as much). I was going to try out the public beta a couple of months back, but that went mammories airbourne and failed to launch.

yes worth getting blockbuster have it in at £34.99 for a few days so bonus only had one lag out online and that was with a full room with grenades goin off all over the place

As apposed to a 360 console that is a piece of rubbish that has had that many problems is unbelievable. As to having a hd drive when blu-ray won the tech war. And as to players like you that have to come onto a thread about a PS3 game because your bored of discussing anything about the rubbish 360. Now toddle off Rich and troll somewhere else!!

The gameplay was always good in MGS games, but the cut-scenes are always too much. If I want to watch a film, I will. I don't fancy having to sit through 90 minute cut-scenes just to find out what happens next so the plot (kind of) makes sense.

Sure it will be an amazing game but not enough to make me buy a PS3.
