Hi, I'm new to this part of the forum so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am in the process of 'signing up' for an allotment in either sothall or Moss way.

The one in sothall doesnt have a water supply - how do you water the plants/veg etc? Do you have to bring your own water?

Does anyone have any knowledge of either of these 2 sites? If so which would you reccommend?

If I was to get a plot at one of these sites, what are the start up costs etc?

Many thanks in advance

Our site does have taps but I try not to use them. It is possible to collect enough water in barrels in the winter to see you through the summer especially if you get into serious mulching.

Also about half the rent of a plot with water will actually be for the water so choosing a site withour water will teach you good practice and save you money. Every time I see someone use the hose on my sight I see my annual rent rocket.

We have taps and water and its great to hose away. I also use the hose to fill the water butts too when they are low. For me the bit extra you pay for the water is worth the cost.
