Last June I was on a bus that had to be diverted away from Worsborough via a higher level route due to a large puddle in the road - is that the sort of extreme tale of adversity you're looking for?

You should try contacting bbc radio sheffield becasue they did a huuge flood aid thing to give people new furniture and things so may know of some willing contacts for you
