Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of any decent local Mountain Biking organisations...i.e that organise trips and rides etc.
Also if there are any other fellow riders out there that may be interested in doing some rides over the coming winter months please let me know...I have been let down by friends that 'can't make it' so would appreciate some biking company. I am not some radical downhiller..just an every day cross country rider..semi-fit, who enjoys the countryside and the challenge and a good pint or 2 afterwards.

Not sure about clubs but the best rides are to be found in wharncliffe woods near Grenoside. Some extremely technical riding to be found up there. Not quite Canada but the closest thing to it

If you ask me...go on your own...went through a phase of going with my mates..never again!..theres allways 1 who moans...another who wont drink enough...another who gets a flat tyre (and no tools)...another will want to go home before you do...another cant keep up...another who wont be ready when your there to pick them up so you can get off....waste of time!
In the end i just went about it in my own way, allthough whilst your out and about you do come across like minded people....Saturday/sundays up at ladybower carpark/cafe is a mecca for mtb,ers..Theres allways like minded people around and no-ones hard to get on with in that enviroment.

hi there, ive been mountain biking for about 14yrs and the group i ride with have all retired or found other things to do. I do night rides and rides at weekends, sometimes i ride local from hunters bar roundabout or ride from hope, however i have been going upto dalby, which has been awsome, i also go up scotland or wales in the warmer months. anyone who would like to get a fun group together, i.e. that steady riding NO going hundred miles an hour but just to ride and socialise with cafe stops and the pub or cafe at the end.
just drop me a line, Pato

Hi, I need to get out more on my mountain bike so will be up for some rides. Have been really rubbish recently and as I have quit work I am no longer even biking there! I like to do cross country and some down hill when possible so drop me a line.

Great variety at wharncliffe fairly big woods aswell and generally the dog walkers and fellow bikers are sound, most horse riders are ok but I have come across some not so friendly and motocross bikes well just let them past my friend didn't move for them once and his back wheel was in the way so they went past and kicked the back wheel wasn't damaged but there needs to be more action done about it! Oh and if you go in via the intermet house owner "Greg" looks scary but top notch fella!
