No, really! According to a report in today's Telegraph, middle-aged men would sometimes rather do something else other than have sex with their partner.

What I find daft about this article and survey is that the Relate spokesperson seems to be suggesting that, if a man doesn't spend his every waking hour thinking about sex, he must have some kind of "psychosexual dysfunction".
Surely sex, like most other leisure activities, is something you have to be in the mood for, and sometimes you're in the mood for something else entirely.
Is this one of those "silly season" reports or are middle-aged men who aren't always obsessed with having sex the weird ones?

Maybe it's just that they want to have sex with someone other than their partner, rather than not want sex at all?
I'm not really that surprised, I thought men reached their sexual peak at 18 and it was middle-aged women who were the frisky ones?

whats new about this. Underneath the bragaddiccio, most men are far more interested in stuff like cars and football than sex.
Is this one of those "silly season" reports
um, no. It's not 'silly season' yet. That's July/August.

A friend of mine came up to see me last week; he's approaching 40 and been divorced for over 10 years. He was complaining because he felt he wanted to share his life with somebody of similar age and interests but all he seemed to attract were, "22 year-olds who want to bounce my bones til 4 in the morning."
I struggled to sound overly sympathetic, but in light of this thread maybe I should feel more sorry for him.

I'd be happy to invite him over to join me in my shed, if you like. It currently contains three bikes, several gardening implements, a pile of bricks and a double pram. You tell me that sex is more fun than playing with that little lot!

Maybe, because men start getting their little paunches at around 30 they start to get embarrassed about their body and therefore go off getting naked.
