That is absoloutley discusting, people who support dog fighting or any sort of animal fighting seriously need their heads examining. Douge de bordeux (spelling???) make absolouley fantastic dogs, poor thing.

I cant open the link but a friend of mine who indirectly works with the RSPCA's helpline told me the latest trick is to cable tie cats legs together and throw them to fighting dogs for sport. Sick, evil...words fail me

I just wonder what this world is coming to. The original owners presumably sold the dog in good faith and must feel mortified that this happened to their previous pet. They surely have a record of who they sold it to. Lets hope they find the bs that subjected this poor dog to this fate. I did some reading the other week about a bbc reporter who went undercover in a notorious fighting fraternity. She was horrified understandably. But it would appear that they dispose of their dogs in ways that are less public than how this dog was found. So perhaps they were amatuers in this horrific sport. God only knows!

Thats really terrible, but unfortunately nothing new, this is why its so very important to make sure that your pet goes to a responsible home, ask lots of questions,do home checks etc, you can't just accept people are who and what they say on face value.
People taking dogs for fighting are known to pose as ordinary people looking for a pet, men and women too, I am not suggesting that the previous owners of this dog didn't home check or that it was their fault at all, for all I know they did everything in their power to ensure the dog had a good home... but it certainly is a very potent cautionary tale.
R.I.P where no one or nothing can hurt you again... poor dog

Its horrifying, i remember watching the documentary made about under cover dog fighting and i was devestated to see what happened, i cannot believe that people can do this let alone get some sort of sick pleasure out of it. anna.x.

It isn't going to stop

the police don't have target stats for it

the RSPCA have easier targets to go after (witness tail docking)

I notice very few people posted anything worthwhile on the thread I was involved in last week about one bloke being imprisoned for 9 months for his dogs savaging a postman - which kind of proves that EVERYBODY is far more interested in being indignant at dog bites than they are in actually doing anything positive to erradicate the breeds used for this activity, or preventing the perpetrators from owning animals

How many people even KNOW what the dangerous dogs act SAYS?

How many people KNOW what breeds are on the dangerous dogs list?

How many people are now finding themselves the owner of a big unknown breed they obtained from a rescue centre or friend only to find out later that it is suspiciously similar to a dog on that list?

Does anybody appreciate that it is ILLEGAL to pass one of these dogs on to a new home - sold or given away? And more to the point WHY DO NONE OF THE AUTHORITIES CARE WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN?
