There is a new craze out now in pubs and clubs, you get up on stage and tell a humourous story, it doesn't have to be true but could be topical or about a news event.
its called Karajokey........
Boom Boom
ps Sick joke here........
What's the difference between Johnny Cash and Robert Palmer?
If you wish to refrain from reading this joke and keep a good impression of mikey do not scroll down.
It's just a 'modern' extension of the old pub piano and 'local' singers on Saturday and Sunday evenings - we tended to (had to) make our own entertainment in 'the good old days'.
And many a famous singer started that way, then onto the local clubs etc.

I would like to state for the record that slander has been committed...or is it libel? Anyway, I have never, am not now, nor ever will be a 'Karaoke Queen'.
DB is however now on the endangered species list. At least he will be able to sing us a nice swan song as he flies towards the light.

I don't mind doing it, but hate doing it in front of friends.
Rock songs should not be sung on karaoke.
Someone bought me a karaoke machine once in the hope that I'd set up a karaoke session in the pub.......it didn't happen. Not to rock music thank you!
How about an air guitar competition then?
- now that NEEDS rock music.

This may have something to do with the fact that when I was a nipper at Uni I did 'Let It Be' with a mate and we got bottled off - literally!
That was in a pub on Leopold Street that you had to go down some steps to get to, the name of which escapes me..

'The Underground' - perhaps?

I think karaoke is a good thing. People should be able to sing if they like, afterall, it is a free world (subject to status, ask for written details).

In some ways I blame Karaoke for the "noise" inflicted on TV audiences every Saturday night on Fame Academy and Pop Idol, especially Pop Idol given the ****eness of the majority of the wannabes who subject themselves to the humiliation of Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell's comments every week.
FA was good though, that Carolynne who won it last night, she's reet nice IMO, and very talented.

Alex was good, but looks wise she was a dog compared to Carolynne, and in this day and age it's all very well having talent but if you've a face like the back end of the 52 from Crookes on a Friday night you've no chance.
I have always wanted to have a good Karaok? Is that the word.
But I have always been too scared to show myself up. Mind you, I have seen good and bad karaoke, AND I have seen good and bad professional musicians too, so what's the difference? And, to my tastes, I hate some of the music that YOU like, and think it is trash. So where does that leave us? I have voted for it. Let the little people have a go. Even of they do come from Crookes.
