its the nature of the beast i'm afraid.
i respond to a lot of 'jobs available' threads but only get a low percentage of responses.
its the posters perogative to respond. maybe you dont fit the bill.
none of us can please all the people, all the time.

Yes but it would be nice even if you got a response saying sorry your not suitable.

I think it is very rude not to reply to people

Just look at it this way do you really want to work for rude employers?

i went to a forumers house to discuss a "large refurbishment project" , spent 3 hours measuring and going through options for a kitchen job. The customer wanted to -
1, remove the old kitchen
2, rewire the kitchen
3, move the gas supply
4, move the plumbing
5, board the walls and ceiling and skim them
6, tile the floor and walls
7, supply and fit a quality kitchen including appliances
Not a problem , I went away worked out the price . Went back to the house to discuss the price which was 5750 and explain where the money was being spent . The response i got was .
" Oh , thats too dear , we can get it done for 3000 " , where do these people come from.

LOL - us trades people should have a private list we could update for every person like that. that way we would know who to avoid.

I booked to see a flat from a forum posting, but on the morning of the day I was going, saw the post was updated to say it had been let. Never got a text from the chap I was supposed to be meeting though - so if I hadn't looked on here, I'd have had a wasted journey.

Like others say, manners cost nothing.

Had another class act from the forum yesterday , went all the way up to Stocksbridge to price up a kitchen and they weren't in , phoned their mobile and it rang and nobody answered , rang again and they'd switched it off . Class . We should have a thread to name these sad time wasters.

You mean like the one for workmen who don't turn up when you wait in for them or arrange to do something and never respond or make arrangements to come in the first place.?
Or turn up and aren't capable of doing the job?

It's not nice for anyone but the practice of being ignorant or rude isn't restrictive.
