At one time it was called "The Royal Garden", also a chinese. It was run by two sisters Jenny and Sue. They had a fantastic fish tank. Funny, the other day I saw the man who used to run the bar for them.... he is now at the Beijing Palace at Green hill.!!!

Once again re: Woodseats - Richard Salvin's video library (Richard is sadly missed by a lot people including myself) - I helped design the artwork for the video sleeves and ran their advertising campaign for him and his Dad "Sam" -Under the "Play it again Sam" theme with Humphrey Bogart of course - I like this forum - I wish I had signed up sooner than this - But as I live in Chesterfield with my Fiance' now - But still commute to Sheffield during the week to work..But lets not discuss "work" it's sunday the day of rest LOL.Have a good one!

I posted this 12th January 2005 on another thread:

Do you remember when Blue Room was Medios? It was possibly Sheffield's first upmarket restaurant (okay, that might be over-egging the pudding) but when it first opened it was THE place to go.

They used to take your car away for parking upon your arrival. The result being that your Mercs and Rollies would be parked toward the entrance of the restaurant and your Sunbeams and Escorts and any old rust-bucket would be parked way out of sight!

It was a good place in its day. I had my 20th bd there in 1989. They did great sweets, ice creams with sparklers and all that. And the Stella was mighty fine too.

I was sad to see it go.

I was living at Woodseats when Medios opened - we went quite a bit because there was nothing quite like it in Sheff at the time. Even though we could have walked we took the car once just for the pleasure of someone doing the valet parking bit.

Had some wonderful family parties there - and great fun watching the chefs 'toss' the pizzas up in the air.
