I am getting so <blank> off with seeing people throw fag butts on the floor like there nothing, today on the M1 someone thru one out the car window and it bounced off my windscreen and sparked all over like a firework just went off! made me panic a bit,, could easy cause a crash.
I am so fed up seeing them everywhere, there are litter and if you drop one and crush with your foot to put it out I think you should still pick it up and put in a bin or something (obviously not to cause a fire) find a proper ash tray or somthing.
Rant over

It would help if there were more readily available ash trays around.
I know the ash tray situation in the town centre has improved, but unfortunately you're always going to have people who will throw cigarette butts on the floor while stood next to the ashtray (they're usually the ones that throw their litter on the floor while stood next to the bin)

Agree about the fag ends but what to do about the chewing gum ? Most of the pavements in town seem to have a solid coating of gum these days.

someone left some on the seat of a tram, it got stuck to my trousers, a girl in front said put them in the fridge and it will peel off, thankfully it did.

But surely, cigarette butts are but a small part of the litter problem. Those buttery greaseproof wrappings they put round butter are even worse as litter.
But, I digress. Litter-butts, sorry, litter-bugs should get a sharp kick up the bug, sorry butt, if they put but even one piece of bitter or butter or butts on the floor near a blutter bin or ban.
And it's no good trying to butter up to the litter or bitter warden if you get a fine. Let's hope that you don't feel bitter but become better about bugging Sheffield with your latter, lutter , batter or bits.
I'm feeling better already !

Barnsley Council have small metal boxes on the town centre walls. These are for depositing fag ends. The trouble is - people put lit fags in them and, as they are not really emptied regularly, they catch fire. The walkway between the indoor market and the Alhambra Mall is like Fag End Alley.

People used to get fined for dropping cigarette ends on the ground in Halifax, don't know if this is still upheld. There are plenty of metal boxes around and there are also posters up for people to stick chewing gum on so why are the streets littered with cigarette ends and chewing gum? We shouldn't only look at cigarettes and chewing gum, there is also the food wrappers. I was taught to put my rubbish in a bin or put it in my pocket/bag and take it home.

Sadly there are a great many socially-irresponsible scrotes who fail even to consider their crass actions when they drop litter, including cigarette butts.
We've all been behind cars in traffic where the dirty tabber in the driving seat throws his/her tab end out of the wiondow, and the kids in the back throw their chocolate/crisp wrappers out of the back window, following their parents' shining example.
We'll never be able to eliminate the underclasses. Regrettably.
