He'll still stay at the club McCabe won't want to give him a huge pay off, I was hearing on Radio Sheffield he may take a director of football position.

Might be like the time we had to get Big Tel in to clean up the mess he made... big tel in charge robson still in the back ground and a few brown envelopes to other teams and bingo we stayed up ..and big Tel got his million quid ( or so they say ).... every ones a winner

What took them so long.
Said from Day one he wasn't the right choice and glad he didn't prove me wrong.
Having said that though, I never like to see anyone lose thier job, that includes managers and even blokes who are just regular fellas like you and me.
I do feel sorry for the bloke in a way with the car park demos etc, and some of the chants.
How would you feel if it was you and your family and kids had to listen to and be a part of that
Maybe he will better serve the club in the backroom and hopefully his name will still help bring some good players to the club.
Regards CB

When teams are playing badly (as in Owls and Blades), why is it that everyone blames the manager and not the players? If Brian Robson or Laws were put in charge of Arsenal, their team would no doubt get some good results. How can any manager, however good, turn the Owls or the Blades into an Arsenal or a Chelsea?

Because the manager is the person who decides which players to buy/sell. I'm a Wednesday fan and think I could have picked a better team to put out knowing United recent history than Robson has in many game this season.
He had a squad when he cam ethat was practically the same as the one Warnock got promoted with. Yes they were a year older but they also had a year of Premiership experience but he's torn that squad apart, brought in his own inferior players and knocked the confidence out of the remaining players.
Ok Brian Laws and Bryan Robson wouldn't do badly if they were in charge of Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea etc but there no Wenger or Alex Ferguson.

I'm not even so sure of that (especially in the latter's case).

Four failures now; Middlesbrough, Bradford C., WBA and Sheffield United. I'd have thought McCabe would have had more oil in his lamp than to appoint this uninspiring individual - just one of many good international players who have failed abyssmally at management - despite Gibson and McCabe bending over backwards to help him.

Who do we think are realistic candidates ?
There are a few out of work managers at the moment, but who would do a job for us. ie getting us back in the Prem.. and staying there for a good while, not just one season.
Remember they appointed Robbo just 9 days after Warnock left, lets hope they spend a little longer this time if it means getting the right man.

The only thing worthy of note Robson did in management was the setting up of the boro youth side.
Sellers has gone to chessy so why dont we put Robson somewhere in the youth set up.
We want the better youth players the world has to offer, so there you go job for robbo and no compensation needed to be paid.
