Basically, I got a dragon agama from the Lizard lounge last Tuesday, he's quite young, and quite nervy (fast AND jumpy). Just wondering if anyone has one, and would be able to tell me how long, if at all, it takes to get him used to me and tamed a bit. I'm giving him about 10 minutes a day handling in the tank, as this worked with my leopard gecko, she took about two weeks to become handlable outside of the tank. My crested gecko was handlable from the word go, good as gold he is. The dragon seems to be getting a bit calmer in my hands but still darts off a lot, suppose it's just a case of wait and see really. But any advice would be appreciated.

All I can say is keep on doing what your doing agamas are a little more timid then geckos.

I tend to give mine a handling and the feed them. That way they associate you with food my blazing blizzard gecko now comes to me when I aproach the viv as he wants to be fed.

just handle him for a short amount of time each day get it used to the surroundings and being handled and it should become a little more tame.
