Following on front the transport thread..

If you found a good dog training class or agility club that you wanted to go to, would the transport (say you had to take the bus) stop you from going?

I will be travelling 2 and a half hours by car to Evesham for a particular dog class in May/June but I'm talking one or two bus rides - not half way across the country

Edit: If you take the dog in the car and that wouldn't bother you - you could still answer no

No if I wanted to go so long as it wasn't to long a journey I would go, all good experience for the dog too... I have done just that in the past.

the dobermutt has only ever been on one bus when she was a pup. She was OK then but such a dramaqueen now, I don't think she would behave enough to travel by public transport.

I don't think bus drivers can discriminate in that way?

Well behaved dogs are allowed on buses. End of.

That said, I think other riders have the right to request you don't travel on the bus if they are not comfortable with the dog... not entirely sure?

I take my dogs all over on buses and trains. However we used to go the agility club every sunday in rotherham. It took 3 buses to get there and 3 buses to get back. The class was only an hour or so and there was alot of standing about. So im sorry to admit but yeah, sometimes transport would make me not take my dogs

oh go on - tell us why you're travelling that for for a class?

it's the sodding tram that annoys me - how can you have an integrated transport policy and not allow dogs on all parts of it?

It's a weekend workshop with a top dog trainer

I agree about the tram - unfortunately it's run by different people...
