Does anyone know what happened to peterw? He was posting a couple of times a day, until a year ago. His last post 19.02.07, when he said he had been ill. I've been trying to contact him via private messaging, but no response. Hope its not as ominous as it looks.

I've been wondering for a while where he is, and if he was ok.

If you are keen to track him down, he used to work for Sheffield Newspapers and you could ring the news desk and ask if anyone remembers him or has any news of him?
The problem is, finding anyone who knows him - I'm nearly 60 and he was about 15 years on me, thus most of the 'old school' have retired. Somebody like Peter Harvey might be your man? I think peterW was a one-time sub-editor.

All useful suggestions, but do you know Peter's surname? Thanks. Given a couple of the replies, I fear the worst.

I believe up to a couple of years ago he was still writing occasional articles for some of the local press in the Manchester area.

I seem to recall he was talking about starting a new business venture not long before he stopped posting. Hope he's OK - a real gent of the old school.

I may have missed part of this story but I believe Peter's last name was Wright. Sorry if someone has already passed this info on.

It seems possible that Peter might be still alive. I am working on a way of getting a message to him, if this is the case. Watch this space!

PeterW,
I thought you might like to know……
Peter Wright, is alive and well!! (and as truculent as ever).
He has been off the forum, because following an illness, he had to go into a care home – where he cannot get a computer connection.
However Peter would love to hear from old friends on the forum.
He can be written to at:
*available via PM*
He also has a phone line at the home: *available via PM* and says he would be delighted to hear from people. He would particularly like to hear from his brother Philip Wright, with whom he lost touch. Philip is believed still in the Sheffield area and may even be active on the Sheffield Forum, although his username not known.
