Magdelene was used as the dining hall at Hogwarts. That's as much as I can help!

congrats on the offer

Oxford Brooks is completely different to main Oxford, Magdeleine is part of main Oxford Uni, Brookes is a former polytechnic like Hallam.

Hi,

You don't say which course you have had an offer for, but it would be interested to hear. I used to work at one of their campuses, so please send me a PM if you have any specific questions.
BTW, if you want to have a general look at the campus facilities (eg Student Union, the outside of the different buildings, halls of residence etc) you can do this by booking a campus tour, these are lead by students who are very honest and approachable and the best source of information.
And last but not least- congratulations. Oxford is a fantastic place to discover and there will be lots of other students!

Oxford's a very beautiful city, but it's a rather surreal experience being a student there. As others have said, Brooks is not part of the University of Oxford (which is mainly clustered around the city centre) but is out of town (a mile or more) at Headington. Not sure how much it still applies, but there was always a strong "Town and Gown" split in Oxford, two alien cultures that didn't always mix very well... And I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks and its students were considered as "inferior" by the central elite...
