Recently formed playing indie, rock & blues & just started playing around with originals. Quite inexperienced but good enough to cobble a few decent songs together. URGENTLY need replacement drummer to get a set polished enough to gig in couple of months. You don't have to be a pro but need to learn new songs in reasonable time. Need to commit to weekly practice on Monday nights at Woodhouse. own gear and transport essential.

We aren't a pro working band, we're not looking to get rich, we're not looking to give up the day job.
We want to get a few different rock & blues & indie covers together, aiming for something a little different to what you might expect. keep doing different songs instead of playing the same sodding set like a lot of bands seem to do. And just play a few pubs now and again. just for fun. there must be a drummer out there somewhere that fits the bill

There's your problem!
Try www.tonicannelli.com. He seems to have plenty looking for opportunities.

I'll have a word with my mate he's been in a few bands and I've heard a lot of people say 'wow the drummers amazing etc.' but to be honest I'm not the kind of person who would notice I just know what I like ...
where abouts are you and where would practises be based and how old are the band members, how many of them etc. ?

My sons a drummer - he was taught by Ric Lee from Ten Years After. He's only 17 though so probably no good for doing the pubs/clubs etc. Good luck with your search tho.

Any luck sweetie? I've always fancied drumming, but never got round to doing it. Is it hard to play the drums?

Iv'e never tried it but I'd love to have a go myself only I can't dedicate the time to learning drums as well focussing my efforts on my guitar playing. I can only offer my encouragement as playing an instrument is sooooooo rewarding. You go for it!!!!!!
