Was any one a member or know anybody who was a member of the following scooter clubs in the mid to late 80's?
Alchoholic maniacs
Northern line
queen of fools (all girls)
These were fairly big clubs in the sheffield area, and used to attend scooter rallys all over the country.
Trying to trace ex members for an old members up and coming fortieth birthday.
Failing that does anybody have any memories of these clubs?

I occasionally went to The Seven Valleys Scooter Club which met at the Barrack Tavern on Penistone Road. My boyfriend at the time had an old Lambretta that we used to get around on. I was about 16/17 at the time.

Bunny is one of the people my friend is trying to trace(my girlfriend used to be involved in the scooter clubs,it's her friend trying to trace people)
Apparently one of the clubs had emblems made for their parkers, which closely resembled that of the "Druids"(rival rocker gang) you can imagine what happened!
My girlfriend remembers driving up penistone road with loads of other scooters en route to a rally, when out of nowhere loads of "druids" turned up on their bikes and surrounded them, encircling them all the way up penistone road!
Sounds like something out of quadraphenia!

Yes, the druids......very nice chaps...if a little unkempt. Is Geordie still in Sheffield. Do you remember Fran....Geordies girl? She was very generous with her affections.

That would be the northern line lot, although they did split into other clubs, alot of them met at the woodburn arms,as well as the Staniforth arms and the barrack tavern.

Hi, just had a look at the website, things have changed since my girlfriend was a member (so she tells me) northern line was the original 1980's scooter club, most members then were mods, later on members broke away and formed there own clubs ie peeping toms, alchoholic maniacs and the all girl club queen of fools.
My girlfriend was in the queen of fools, eight girls with there own scooters, they travelled on the rallys with the alchoholic maniacs, all over the uk,including the isle of wight.
My girlfriend went on her first scooter rally with northern line at the age of 14 in 1982! She has a full album of pictures of her time with scooter clubs, she ought to publish them.

If the send me the pictures I could put them on my web site www.absolutelyscooters.com or pass them on to someone from the club some of them come in my shop. If you email me some sort of ad I can put it put in the shop for all to see if you like.

She will dig them out at the weekend, she also has some great "posed" mod pictures she did as part of a project(she is now a pro photographer) these are amazing pictures, you might like them,i will have a word with her,and ask her to contact you.
She has often thought about doing some more mod shots, scooters ect on a commercial basis,do you think there could be a market for it?
