We are meeting my son (who lives in the USA) in California in April, we are driving to the Grand Canyon and then to Las Vegas and San Diego. Any ideas on where to stay, what to do or not do etc would be welcome. He suggests when we are in Las Vegas we see the Blue Man Gruop, who I have never heard of www.blueman.com

Has anyone seen their show?

If you're going to Vegas you MUST stay on the strip in one of the big famous hotels, they are amazing in themselves. I can recommend The Luxor (stay at the top of the pyramid, the view down into the casino is enough to terrify any steeplejack) and Caesars Palace (the pool complex is fantastic).

We've decided to give the Blue Man Group a miss. My son says he will see them when they tour the US.

We do plan to stay on the strip, we are there for 3 days before staying 2 nights at the Grand Canyon, any one stayed there? We will have my 67 year old Mum with us so dont want to do anything too taxing, we reckon the helicopter ride is a must, and are debating about one of the river trips.
