There is still the awful smell of the drill, the nervousness if it goes on a nerve, the mouth stuffed so you can hardly breathe let alone answer him when he asks you something, people are going to Hungary and places because the costs are so enormous here, in fact I know someone who says if they ever make a set of false teeth that looks like the real thing she'll have all the rest of her teeth out, if they don't have to be taken out at night

Im a regular visitor to the gob doctor and I look after my toothy pegs but no matter how much you look after them you have to go through a little pain occasionally.

I dont think there are any technological breakthroughs that will alleviate the pain or discomfort, my Dentist certainly doesnt use anything different than the dentist I went to when I was a teenager.

The best thing you can do before going to the Dentist is to watch this little public information film, itll calm your nerves:

But there have been improvements in dentistry recently!

I had a filling and injection not long ago - the local anaesthetic injection (sp?) was barely a scratch and I felt no pain during the procedure.

Plus the numbing effects wore off in a few hours, so I didn't have to spend the rest of the week looking like I'd had collagen implants in my lips

The white filling was strong enough to begin eating with immediately.

Really, I've donated blood in the past and that was far more uncomfortable than this.

If trips to your Orthodontic Solutions Provider™ are painful, then that's probably because they are crap at their job or your gnashers are ruined

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me

do you go NHS or pay privately? (which I am going to have to do as most of the dentists' lists are full?)

NHS believe it or not!

I think it's one of those practices run by a medical corporation that offer NHS services, so I had to sign plenty of forms and pay a small contribution for it (under £30)

My other half had a crown fitted recently to a back tooth and the damn thing is gold! She doesnt have to pay for gob work, the dentist is Eastern european and cant speak very good English, shes a good doc though, but gold? Will they fit gold crowns to front teeth if they need `em?
I remember the USSR, almost everyone had silver front crowns so I hope they arent going to start that here.

My dentist is fantastic, I don't feel a thing when they do any work! They are also very quick and good at what they do.

Tell your friend that you can have false teeth that you don't have to take out at night, and they do look like real teeth... only thing is they cost approx £2200 per tooth at my dentist.

Also, not everyone can have implants. It depends on the state of your gums and how much bone you have to work with.
