After reading the Spring Leigh thread and not wanting to hijack that one I thought I'd make a new thread about another potentially spooky house/houses in Longley. It's the set of properties just at the bottom of Longley Lane where the road dips down and the houses are set back off the road inside the park. The houses don't actually look spooky but they're very old and as far as I can gather they've been there since the 1700s. Unfortunately there's very little info about them online other than the Mary Booth murder story in Longley Park.

Does anyone know any history or folklore attached to the old farmhouse before it was renovated?

Thanks for that. I'll have a look.

Anyone know where I could find details of past inhabitants at the property and what happened to them etc?

Yup that's them That's quite an old shot isn't it. Doesn't look like the houses have been renovated yet. Do you have any other info?

That was taken in 1990, when I visited family and my old stomping ground [Longley Park] don't know anything about them to be honest, they looked great, so I took the photo for old times sake.

I use to cut thru there every day from St Patricks school, dosen't look like it;s changed much, although I don't remember the white gate, I though it was just an opening.

There's no white gate anymore and the stable area at the back has since been renovated into another property so the farmhouse is 2 semis and the stables is a detached.

Nice shot though

Are you sure they are the right cottages, I think he is on about Longley Hall Farm.
Just in case your right and I'm wrong these cottages are a couple of hundred yards from my home and they have been fully renovated.
The old cottages shown in that photo hav been demolished and totally rebuilt in a simular design.

By no means certain, - but I've a recollection these cottages once were part of the Crowder House estate. Perhaps built for farm workers ?

The cottages which we drove past last week seem higher up than those in the picture. They arent in The Dip, but on the left hand side , and are actually in Longley Park itself. They have been extensively renovated.
