After something good for a closely cut full beard.
Especially interested in hearing from left handers, as machines with 'righties' in mind can sometimes leave you with the buttons pressing into your palm.

I bought one of those Walh trimmers years ago from argos for about twenty qiud.
It has a few different "gaurds with it for cutting hair but I find taking the gaurds off and setting it for a long cut does my beard fine.
The one thing it needs though is oil.
It come with a little in the box, sort of a very very light oil but that runs out within the week. I but mine from the Remington shop at the yorkshire outlet in Doncaster its about £2 for a 300ml bottle. Lasts ages.

At one time Sweeny Todd on Fleet Street in London provided a good service. None of his customers ever complained afterwards. Also, there was a grreat pie shop next door that sold the most delicious pies. Yum yum!!

A mate of mine was up from London last weekend and after two days walking around Sheffield, she said she'd never seen so many beards. I've got to admit she had a point, there were a lot of furry faces around.
So what do you reckon, is Sheffield a particularly beardy city?

Hmmm. Never noticed it as being so.
I'll keep my eyes open for face fungus though.

I have a bit of stubble which will eventually turn into a beard.
Don't hold ya breath, it'll be gone tomorrow

I'm a beardy, only because I dislike shaving so much (ingrowing hairs, etc!).

Nope - your beard grew itself, - all you did was stop mowing your face
In ancient times when all we wore were animal skins, beards were handy to help distinguish men from women. Why some men these days prefer to look like women is entirely their own business

Yes I think so mainly with Sheffields beloved cyclists and tree huggers LOL

I got a bit obsessed with this (erm, I mean very bored...) this afternoon and figured out the following:
Of 55 male councillors, we have 12 with beards plus 3 with moustaches and a couple with a distinct 5 o'clock shadow...
Of four male MPs, we have two with beards...
And of, erm, one knighted Chief Executive, we have one with a beard...
Yes, I really was bored.

I read somewhere once that men who wore beards were hiding their true character for whatever reason

Could be something in that. I stopped shaving when I had DTs - it's too easy to cut your throat
