Just wondering, what does everyone think of The Ridgeway Arms in Mosborough? Is it a good place? What's the function room like? Is the food there nice?

Went there last weekend. Function room upstairs so didn't see it. It looks like it was once a nice large victorian pub, but inside has been open planned, it serves that frozen pub grub stuff that's only any good (pricewise) if you can take advantage of the 2 for 1 offer.

I was disappointed coz I was expecting something better (due to reputation), but if you know what it's like, it may be what you're looking for. The function room may be nice.

We hired a pub function room, but got our own caterers for our engagement.

I live near their and it depends on what your looking for. I personally think it's gone down hill. The food was really dissapointing last time I went and I ended up leaving most of it. It doesn't taste like it's freshly cooked but taken out of a packet and bunged into the microwave. Its usually busy with kids as it's family orientated but later at night it can sometimes get busy. I personally wouldn't recommend it, I think there are nicer places.

we have eaten there before on reputation of what we now know it USED to be like.

Not very nice at all... Isnt expensive but know of alot more pub meals for same price that offer better quality.

Its a case of you feel you shouldnt complain because its all 2 for 1. and you havent paid alot.

I totally agree with the microwave culture that has been mentioned before, IT IS JUST THIS.

All in all a nice place that is friendly, but if you want a nice meal or even decent food then give it a miss.

If you do want lovely food then try the Phoenix, on the same road as the ridgeway arms, but further up on way to Gleeadless. Lovely hearty food in a modern feeling old style pub, complete with log fire

The pub is a non-smoking pub so that be off putting to some.
