A little from column A, and a little from column B. Quite how the beardy protagonist would actually implement this learned knowledge is another question though. It's all very well knowing about proton accelerators and transparent aluminum configuration, but it’s of little practical use if the pinnacle of your scientific exploration is making a rocket travel 50ft on scrapheap challenge.

That bloke who's supposed to invent warp speed wasn't a proper Scientist though, he just built the warp ship for the money he said in ST: First Contact.

I'd like to see him propose that one on Dragon's Den.

"I aint no scientist yeah, but I've got this device that makes you travel at the speed of light"

I am currently watching the repeats of DS9 on Virgin 1. Loved it TNG and the original, but couldn't get into Voyager, despite many wasted hours attempting too, and then dropped Enterprise after one episode.

I find it interesting that very few people from TNG or DS9 at least have had much of a career since. Colm Meaney and Patrick Stewart and the guy who plays Quark and exception I suppose, but I never see the actors who played Dax, Troi, Riker, Sisko, Kira etc in anything.

Escapism, adventure, the great unknown, boldly going where no MAN has gone before.

TBH I’m not an avid fan of Star Trek, I’m more of a Battlestar Galactica (new series) or Babylon 5 fan really. Voyager was by far the best series as it had a direction, unlike DS9 or TNG or even Enterpise.
