I spelt Zambesi wrong... God knows what made me think of that immediately i'm like a walking crap music library. Now i can't stop singing Tom Hark, punctuated with Cambodia by Kim Wilde.

Harare was called Salisbury when it was under British rule; Mugabe changed it (or put it back?) to a native name.

The name of the city was changed to Harare on April 18, 1982 .....

Around the same time the name of Hwange was adopted, having previously been known as W ankie.

I'm struggling to match either name up to a song though.


Meanwhile...

The Divine Comedy did a song called Victoria Falls.
