Hi guys im 28 and I have worked since leaving school and I have this regret I didn't do the plumbing course I was offered when first leaving school.

I took an engineering course but I soon left the trade due to not getting a job after the course.

I have done other things since and im good at plumbing and electrics. Does anybody know where I could do it at nightschool or are you a plumber looking to take someone on that is good at general plumbing and electrics.

Also I would like to hear about what everybody would like to do if they could swap trades.

I work as a freelance ventriloquist and am currently looking for a partner. You need to be no taller than 3 foot, enjoy being locked in a suitcase and must have no objection to me sticking my hand up your bottom on stage.

Please send CVs to Basil@fictionalemailaddress.com.

I think you may have just missed the start of the term but check with the colleges if they have a course you can do.

Unfortunately these days just being good at something isnt enough. You have to have a certain amount of qualifications before you can even get on the course esp in maths.
Sadly .gone are the days where one could join as tea boy etc and work their way up and learn a trade.
You probably have all the required GCSE'S etc and should have no problem, but my son was keen to do plumbing and didnt have enough , as hes got moderate learning difficulties so he couldnt get on any plumbing courses.

I would have thought engineering would be more interesting, and better paid, than plumbing ?

There is a company called Met-UK based out at Rotherham off the M18, they do a plumbing course, but you have to pay a few thousand I think.

7000 and nothing at the end of it as you still have no idea what you are doing but you get a lot of nice books to read while watching afternoon tv .
