Jon Bon Jovi Says These Guys Can’t Fill a Bar
Jon Bon Jovi has taken a swipe at British music stars Oasis and Robbie Williams, claiming they "couldn't fill a bar".

The Bon Jovi frontman says rockers Oasis are arrogant without substance, while Robbie's music is so bad he "couldn't even sell 500 tickets".

He said: "Robbie Williams? That guy couldn't even fill a bar. He couldn't sell 500 tickets.

"Oasis couldn't fill a bar either - and they're full of themselves."

The 45-year-old singer also blasted notorious Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty, claiming he hasn't even heard any of his music.

He added to Glamour magazine: "We're not familiar with Pete Doherty in the US other than his antics and the fact that he's always in trouble - I've never heard a single one of his songs."

Jon also launched an attack on English soccer star David Beckham, who recently moved to the US to play for Los Angeles Galaxy, suggesting he is "past his prime".

On Saturday night (09.01.07) Jon threw a lavish party at his East Hampton home.

Guests included Bruce Springsteen, Sir Paul McCartney, Billy Joel and former Pink Floyd star Roger Waters.

Oasis probably couldn't fill a bar in the US - very few British bands have made it big in America. Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, The Police, Depeche Mode..can't think of any more.

Well said, Jon "Poodle Perm, Hasn't Had A Hit For 15 Years" Bon Jovi!
Who says Americans don't do irony?

Good point!

Oasis will be remembered LONG after Mr Bon Jovi is even more of a faded memory than he is currently... remind me, who is he again? A failed actor I thought?

Nah, he's probably too busy using the iron to flatten his ridiculous-looking perm.

I think his comments regarding Oasis were misquoted. It should read 'Oasis can't fill a bar of music without "borrowing" from the works of other artists, namely the Beatles and inparticular, John Lennon.'

I think he's right although he's said it all wrong. Everyone knows Oasis and the not-come-out-of-the-closet-yet one from Take That survive these days more on who they were than the music (or if you prefer, dirge) they churn out nowadays.

Funny how Williams could hardly get to sing on any of Take That's dismal output and yet when he launches a solo career, suddenly he's the best male vocalist Britain ever produced. He got lucky with a good song writer in Guy Chambers. Oasis should have called it a day after What's The Story IMO.

But then again, so should Mr White Teeth and Blowdried Hair Jon and his Bon Jovials. Boring and predictable soft rock (AOR which equals MOR) which caters for the nothing-too-trying Yank audience.

We could put Bonny Jonny, Our Robbie and Oasis (wi' Aar Kid in it) in a studio and we'd have the musical equivallent of a Leeds United. Everybody you hate with a passion all performing in the same team.

Bring it on (just make sure I'm on my holidays at the time).

Yeah as a crap plagerising band, Oasis are over-rated to the maximum, they believe themselves to be the best band ever!

How wrong they are, one thing they did have were good music writers, namely messers Lennon and McCartney!

Mmmm, that "Frog Chorus" is a masterpiece, isn't it? Calm down, calm down....

I think Oasis have a much securer place in the pantheon of rock history than Bon (boring, AOR, horribly bland) Jovi.

I know which of the two bands I'd pick to see in a heartbeat.

And here. Who wants to see a **** in a parka staring at his shoes and jangling a tambourine? I'd rather have fireworks and jackets with tassels under the arms.

Get back in the Helicopter Jon.

Is it true that Paul Weller was walking in a centre when he saw a portrait of that oaf McCartney - and promptly gobbed on it?

Good man Weller!

I doubt there's any truth in that.

Oasis sold out Madison square Gardens last year and didn’t Robbie Williams sell out three nights a Knebworth a few years ago?

I'm not much of a Beatles fan... or Paul Weller come to that but true or not, it's not big or clever to go around spitting on anyone.

I suspect that Paul Weller would win the 2007 Pretentious Stakes if up against McCartney.

Indeed so! Love it! John Lennon was the legend - McCartney merely rode on his coat-tails

Nah, that's an amateurs view of it! McCartney had plenty of talent and was no idiot... unlike Lennon.
