We adopted a kitten last night. She's 12/14 weeks old and is black with a white spot on her chest. We've called her Pepper. She's currently hiding under our futon in the spare bedroom, venturing out every now and then to assess the situation. Guinness (our dog) is being very good, and is leaving her to it which we're very surprised about, so hopefully she'll settle in in no time.

The only concern is she hasn't eaten anything today, just sniffed at it and left it. We're trying to give her as much space as she needs to come round.

Any hints anyone has that might help the process would be much appreciated

None of our kittens ate for about 48 hours after arrival, and they didnt poop much quicker either. She just needs time to get used to things, cats only eat when they are hungry anyway, unlike dogs who eat because its 'there'.

Leave her to it to find things out in her own time. As long as she knows where the food and litter tray are, she'll be fine to explore.

Please put some piccys on
