A walk will take place of about 2/3 miles Thursday 6th September taking in some of Sheffield's real ale establishments along the way.
The intention is to meet at the Hillsborough Hotel on Langsett Road at 7.30 (tram stop nearby), and to walk to the Wellington (ex Cask and Cutler), situated back along Langsett Road at 8.00. We will then leave the Wellington at 8.45 to walk to the Milestone on Green Lane and stay here until 9.30 before carrying on along Neepsend to the Harlequin on Nursery Street. We will leave the Harlequin at around 10.15 (unless the timings have gone to pot by this time for some reason!) and finish the evening off in the Dog and Partridge on Trippet Lane.
Regular walkers, occasional walkers and non-walkers are all welcome to join us at any point along the way. This is the reason why we're trying to be fairly specific about the timings.
I hope this might be a good opportunity for people who might be interested in seeing what the Walking Group is all about, to come along and meet some of the regulars and become acquainted.

Oh, put me down for this one! Adam should be able to make it - but if not I'll come by myself. Crossing my fingers I have a light day of work the next day

The Cask & Cutler is no more - its now the Wellington. Same pub, just as brown.
The pub at Kelham Island will either be the Kelham Island Tavern or the rather more awful Fat Cat. Its a good walk up to the Dog from the Harlequin!

Cheers for info Meaks, I've amended the thread accordingly, and to include the Kelham pub which is neither of the 2 you mentioned!
Re the distance from the Harlequin to the Dog and Partridge, well, we are supposed to be walkers aren't we Having said that, we might find somewhere else to call in at on the way to the Dog anyway, especially if nature calls

Just to revive this thread and get it a little higher up, I just want to say that if anybody is thinking of coming then I'm sure you'll enjoy it, we had a real laugh on the Folk Train night out Tuesday, and I'm sure this evening out will be just as good.
If the 7.30 start is too early for anybody, why not link up later on at the pubs we are calling in at later in the evening. Although the times are approximate, I'm sure they'll not be all that far out!

How about this for a simplistic view...........
Either meet at Hillsborough Hotel at 7.30 and stroll round town to the other pubs, or..........
come out later and call me on my mobile to see where we are, or..........
get the wrong night and stay sober.

Not a night for driving I think Sam, I`ll be going there by tram from the city centre if you want to meet me say at around 7 at Fitzalan Square. Otherwise, taxi's your best bet.

Oops, sorry to be a pain, but I might not be in town now and will be coming from home instead. The Hillsborough Hotel is easy to get to though, you just need to get a Middlewood tram and get off at the stop after Tesco. Alternatively, maybe Neily might also be getting a tram from town (hint hint)

I'll be going by tram. If I finish work early enough I'll be getting a Malin Bridge tram from Park Grange Croft, if possible whichever one gets to Castle Sq closest to 7.00. If I'm late finishing I'll be getting a tram from the University.
