I wonder how the press will react to this kidnap case? A 3 year old UK nipper on her way to school has been kidnapped by gunmen in Nigeria. Full story here.
Will we be having a fund, what about a yellow ribbon for this one or how about a minutes silence? I'd be interested to see how people will treat this one now the floods and "terror" attacks have washed Maddie from the papers.

yeah it really bugs me, all the kidnapping that happens, and the maddie one gets everywhere, WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?? THE OTHER KIDS?? THE OTHER PARENTS?? Theres more than just you in the world.. Sure its sad, sure we feel for you but JEES!!!

It will be interesting to see what happens.
However, given the involvement over the years of various Western oil companies in the Niger Delta region, I doubt we'll have the media lifting the stones too eagerly.

The whole Maddie thing has made me sick... wonder how many children have been abducted in the time since she went missing to today's date. None of those parents were blessed with the amount of press coverage etc.

So why has madeleine had so much publicity compared to other children? Is it due to the fact her parents have money?

Maybe other parents should get up off there backsides and push for publicity like madeleines parents are doing.I dont think it has anything at all to do with having money.It is a case of not giving up i would do exatly the same if i was in their position.Even if it came to selling my house and everything i owned.

People gave money because they wanted to they were not duped into doing it.Not everyone is as hard hearted as some people .

Again - their choice. I fail to see how people can blame Maddie's parents for spending either their own money which they earnt, or money that was donated to them from "well wishers" or money from any other "sources". It's their choice - and the exercised it. Hence if people want to be angry at the "money" situation - they should consider that Maddie's parents have utterly worked the media and well, it's paid off hasn't it.

How do you know other parents don't push for publicity? Madeline went missing at what was a quiet time regarding news in the UK. The records show that regardless of how many children go missing, if the press have something else to print they will print it.
How do you know that parents don't go out every day looking for their missing child? You can't be sure if they're looking or not because 99.99% of missing children cases don't make the national press. The only reason why so many people are aware of Madeline is because the press jumped on it in a ridiculous way. By the way, have Madeline's parents been actively searching for their child or have they been following the path the media set out before them?
