BB's on Devonshire Street is Amazing and not over priced.
ASK if very nice, but service can be slow.
La Scala at Millhouses is amazing, but pricey.

Trattoria Sorrento on Crookes is good and byo and there's a back room for parties seating up to 20.

Vito's in Walkley is good.

Been to La Scala a few times coz it's local - it's good but not great imho - a lot of things taste quite samey.
Agree that Milano is very good indeed.

Vitos is good, nice food, good service.
My favourite has to be BB's on Division Street. Food is gorgeous and not over priced at all. It's quite intimate and romantic.
BTW there is a new italian that's just opened or opening in this west one development place. I hope to try that one and also Las Iguanas, a latin american place also in west one development. i have got a voucher for a 10% discount so I will try that one soon aswell.

I've tried quite a few and I have to say that Trattoria Romana on Ecclesall Road always pleases me and the missus. They always have a fantastic specials board (so you can go again and again and never have the same thing) and the staff are warm and friendly (they don't attempt any dodgy italian accents - they just stick to their Sheffield ones)!
Here's some of the other's I've been to, roughly in order of preference:
1. Trattoria Romana (Ecclesall Road)
2. La Scala (Abbeydale Road)
3. La Gondola (Carver St)
4. Vittoria's (both Ecclesall Road)
5. BB's (Devonshire St)
6. Flying Pizza (Glossop Road)
7. Mama's & Leonies (Norfolk St)
8. K Pasa (Glossop Road)
9. Santino's (Ecclesall Road)

Love Rossis.
Surprised to see Trattoria Romano on the list as had worst meal there ever!
Trouble with restaurants, unless you visit on a regular basis, is your view can change depending on the meal you had, the night you went, the waiter that served you.
In my opinion Rossis and BBs thge best.

Trattoria Romana on Eccy has pleased every single time - fantastic saltimbocca and the house wine is as good as i've had anywhere.
I also have a soft spot for La Luna further up Eccy (nearly opposite the casino). The site of myself and Miss FE's first date
Pizza Volante has many fans amongst my friends, but i haven't been there on account of the various gangland-style killings over the years

I've mentioned this one before but Cerrones in Ecclesfield has yummy food. As far as I can remember I think it's non smoking throughout.
