Oh my god, when did this happen. Not been back from Concord long, cos my little lad has swimming lessons there. Is your son OK? Bet hes shook up. I always hope that they sell there stolen wares for a bad batch of the drugs that they inject into their veins.

Did it happen outside the sports centre? They are supposed to have security guards outside. And dont they have CCTV? Might be worth checking out.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Please make sure that your son knows that he's far more precious than a mobile phone, and the fact that he's physically unharmed tells us that he did the right thing in protecting himself and coming home safe.

wasnt there another forum member whose son was also mugged in concorde park? I hope your son is ok-i have a 12 yr old son as well. Dont know what more we can do as parents-he was with friends for gods sake!

I honestly dont understand how a grown man could do this to a child.

The "grown man" will be ruled by drugs. He will be scum, whose first thought is how to get his next fix. More than likely he wont have worked a day in his life, thinks the world owes him a living, and would probably kill his own grandma to get drugs. It scares the living daylights out of me just thinking about what my son will have to face as he gets older. He is only 6 now, way too young to go out alone, but with everything that happens, I think I will keep him under lock and key until he is 25!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness!! How awful I am dreading when my children get older and want to go out with their friends. We buy mobiles so you can get in touch with them and visa versa, not to have some idiot steal it. I really hope he is ok. Damn that man I hope he rots in hell.

Dont give them mobile phones, we have managed for hundreds of years without them, they seam to attract more trouble than they are worth.

Kids and phones are such a dilmma for parents. What do we do? Do we let 'em have the phone knowing they can get in touch in case of emergency, but knowing theres a risk some idiot like this might happen along?
Or do we ban them from having a phone and not give them any freedom or independance?
Im all in favour of my kids having phones, and like Medusa says the important thing is that your child arrives home unharmed...with or without phone. Unfortunately that wont make you any less angry and upset.
Im so so sorry for your young 'un pet, he must have been terrified

I mentioned on here about my sons getting mugged for mobiles a couple of years ago. That was at the bus stop across the road from the sports centre. I drove around the local estates hoping to see the scum so I could run them down ... I was fuming.

I hope your son is okay wheateruk. And I hope the scumbag who robbed him dies a horrible death.

We did comment at the time that they only had mobiles in case of emergency, but if they hadn't had them on this occasion then there wouldn't have been an emergency. And ironically, when the emergency arose, they couldn't use them.

The world certainly doesn't owe him a living, what it really owes him is a DYING, his own. Filth like this deserve to die and I sincerely hope that the vile b*****d does so in a very slow and excruciating manner in the very near future.

my son was mugged for his phone in town about 12 months ago and was really upset by this, a few months later he was bullied into handing over his leather gloves at a bus stop in full view of a number of 'adults' and no-one intervined to help. On both occasions he was absolutley devastated - silly thing is that he has been given a commendation from school for stepping in when bullying has been taking place! Where's karma when you need it??
