what do you call the bread that you put your hot dogs in, bridge rolls or hot dog buns? I call them bridge rolls but my mate says they are hot dog buns. Personally i think we both ought to get a life rather than having a dissagreement over the finer points of a hot dog.

It's the bloody Americans infecting our language. A bun is something you have with a cup of tea. A roll is what you put savoury food in. Mainly dead animal products like hot dogs and sausages etc.
Plus, I must agree with Ant. You talking about where sausages go is quite an 'uplifting' subject!

nope, sheffield born and bread (or bridge roll)
after years of parents running a hot dog van they ordered their bread each day, bridge rolls and bread cakes
