So how often should dogs have baths? Should they bathe in the bathtub or have a doggy tub?

We wash ours once a week in Vosene shampoo- We've used it since we first got her, and she still has a lovely shiny coat

You shouldn't bath them that often, but i dont like a smelly dog, plus mine sleep on my bed.

No i use our bath, to bath them in. Hope this helps.

But any old dog shampoo will do.

Bathing a dog in an acrylic or plastic bath will result in the bath getting scratched - we know - we've got one
We now use one of those horrid non-slip mats for bathing Brude

I had to laugh at the description of the dobermutt's showers - occsaionally we do this to Brude, but the door's a bi-fold one, so he can't escape

I've said it somewhere before, but unless you're going to take your labrador hunting and shooting, then leave him/her in a kennel, the 'natural weatherproofness' thing doesn't have to apply

There are show judges who trot out this little gem about other breeds, but still bath their own dogs regularly

Personally, I'm with Shihtzumad on this one..... Brude isn't allowed on the bed when he gets past his bath-by date, so a regular bath gives us a happy beagle (even if he does look cross when you mention the word )

Going to try that on mine on their next bath.

I have also got some dog perfume for pets what the dog groomers use, for that extra smell, they smell divine. They have all had a bath today good groom, and all they beds washed, even my bed, dont you just love getting in a feshly made bed.

Brude steals Mr Strix's Hugo Boss

As a pup he used to rub his face against Mr Strix's when he had just applied it

Funny thing is.... it suits him

Our current foster has had a shower in the garden - in dettol moisturising handwash, and has snuggled Mr Strix just after Hugo application, so she smells of it too

A dogs skin is much more sensitive then human skin. The only safe human product to use on a dog is baby shampoo as it is really mild.

If people use human products on their dogs then each to their own, but I dont think it is suitable for every dog, when you look at the chemicals in some human shampoo so I wouldnt advise anyone to use them, particularly those dogs with sensitive skin.

You can buy groomers shampoo online which is used in salons try these companies.

That's why I only use Herbal Essences or moisturising shower gel on Brude. I also wonder if it's the fact that he's regularly bathed that he doesn't have a reaction to it
