I'm thinking of moving back up north, and am looking around to see where I might find a job in the software industry. Is there much around Sheffield, or does anybody know of another site where I could usefully find out?

jobserve.co.uk isn't bad - use 'sheffield' as a search term.

Depends upon skill set - quite a few people live in Sheffield and work in Leeds.
I'm currently on a contract here in Sheffield - got that one via the agency Modis. They're pretty good.

A great deal also depends upon your skill set and experience as to whether you'll get work or not.
As was suggested above, look on Jobserve, and Computer Weekly also run a web site with jobs on - a Google will find them. Modis has been good to me - other agencies that are worth considering for the Leeds / Manchester area are Hays, Spring and Rullion.

I've been looking for part-time GIS or data-analyst jobs, found lots of them, none in South Yorkshire. Strange and unfortunate. Arnold

Got to agree about Modis, they got me my current job virtually hassle free.

Did you find it easy to get an IT job in Sheffield? There don't seem to be many jobs around.
