can anyone tell me if i resign can my company make me work my notice at another branch of that company even if i dont wish to.

Check your contract mate, see what the small print says
There's nowt to stop you going off sick either

yes states i work at one branch but may be asked to work elsewhere due to holidays, business trends etc.

I'm afraid thats where they've got you then. It seems you are required to work where they want you to, all they have to say is that business needs require it.

How long is your notice, don’t forget you maybe wanting a reference at some point in the future, don’t burn your bridges.

have you already been asked to relocate or are you just bieng cautious, you could always say you heard a rumour that if you resign they make it difficult for you to attend work so they can sack you instead of paying redundancy out! that then comes into unfair dismissal and is a minefield for companies! they will leave you alone to finnish your time in peace. how much notice do they require and is there any reason you cant relocate i.e distance, you never know you might like the new place and decide to stay!

You can't be forced to work notice, for any reason.
However, likewise, a company that you didn't work notice for would not be oblidged to give you a pristine reference.
