I can't imagine not having cats in my house now.

Our house sometimes feels like a zoo but I wouldnt have it any other way!
There are certain things I would change, like...................I wish they wouldnt molt so much, but hey, thats life!

This sunday for a few hours the dogs were at my friends and all the cats were out (well, Lily was upstairs) and me and my partner were watching tv and the house felt really quiet and empty, not very homely.

I wouldnt swap them for the world. (unless Lily pulls my net curtain down one more time then you can have her! )

I think my dog gets on my nerves sometimes but the other week when she was at the vets to be speyed I kept missing her usually she is always one step behind me but that day i kept talking to the floor even to the point while outside hanging the washing out my neighbour asked who i was talking to doh. Now she's back it really hit home how much I will miss her when she was away for the night now i never complain when she follows me.

I always come home to a welcome meow! It's lovely to see Spangles little furry face light up when I in walk in the door. Where ever she is she always come to greet me. I don't have kids, so she really is my baby. They give you so much joy and don't expect a lot in return. Just food, water, love and cuddles!

All these things and more - life without the mutt and the furry felines doesn't bear thinking about - I've ALWAYS had pets and it would a lonelier place without them. Even when the drama-queen attention-seeking dobe is driving me nuts, or the barmy bengal is destroying the venetian blinds, or the nutty norwegian 'florist' cat is rearranging another vase of flowers, or the mad maine coon has puked up another furball, or the inscrutible Havana chews chunks out of my cushions, or Minty the supposedly sensible senior moggie leaves white fur all over the place... I LOVE THE LOT OF THEM!

I'm lucky, Mrs Grinder gets up to feed our rabbits... they appreciate her feeding them more than when I feed them.

20lbs of excited bunny bouncing round the house waiting for breakfast has to be seen

what pets mean to me:
more housework

all my weekends been taken up by races and shows.

being at the top of our vets xmas card list

driving around in a transit van (for the dogs!)

redesigning the garden (for the dogs)

a trip to southport every 2 months or so to bulk buy the only food we will use as not available any nearer.

military precision should we want a dog-free holiday (like having to book kennels a year up front as require half the block to house the whole pack)

a constantly empty bank account

more stress and worry than you can shake a stick at

either a heart thats stolen or swells with pride, or as we have found recently....
....a broken heart

Extra friends and family. Each has there own place in the family and I get different love and cuddles off each of them, like having toe nibbles off little pig! Smirnoff (bunny) seems to like jumping up and sniffing your nose
Rhia (horse) is my best friend, we can be really moody with each other though our pmt colides (sp) something rotten

I think everyone has just about covered what I would answer to this so I won't repeat!! Just one other thing to add, having pets makes coming bck from holiday exciting because you can't wait to see them!!! I haven't been away yet but we're going in June and I need to find a good cattery but I guess thats another thread

Stress and worry and no money

Early morning and late night dog walks before/after a full days work

Picking poo up

Being shoved off my own sofa/bed

Being kept awake at night by Staffy snoring

Coming home to chewed toilet roll

on the flipside

Coming home to someone that feels like they haven't seen you in years and wants to show you their love by having the waggiest bum you have ever seen!

Knowing that I am loved unconditionally no matter what I say or what I may have done.

Seeing adoration and love in her eyes

Feeling I have made a difference

My animals are my life. They are the reason i get up in a morning. When everything else goes wrong they make me smile. My dog doesnt leave my side if im not well and is my best friend. I would not be without them.

I think an empty house would be the most depressing thing in the world. Little furry attention spans are a joy.
