These tales from far-off places are quite fascinating, Falls.

You have a wonderful library in your mind. One can imagine being there with you on your travels.

It's a strange world we never get the opportunity to visit unless we have the insights of people like yourself.

Yes, your stories are always exciting, and come from different parts of the world. Are you originally from Sheffield ?

Hello,

Yes, I'm a Sheffielder. Born in Nether Edge, I grew up on a street off the Wicker. Later I lived in Norton Lees. After we were married, we lived in Norton, Montreal and Dronfield. Since 1974, we have lived in Ontario.

Regards

How wonderful to live in Ontario, the scenery must be stunning. My son goes skiing every year in Canada.Think its near Lake Louise. You would have a shock to see The Wicker now. Its gone downhill during the last few years. I used to work in the office at OXO on Joiner St, in the Wicker.

Hi,

I used to live on Stanley Street, opposite the end of Joiner Street. In fact, our front windows faced up Joiner Street.

The building was declared dangerous and hastily demolished in October,1960.

Nice one Falls
You do have some really interesting tales to tell, I was waiting for the abacus to come out, and I don’t know about “grew up in the wicker” they should have called you Alan Wicker with all your jaunts.

Hello Coyleys,

Well done! All these years and I had never made the connection with Alan Wicker. Of course, mentioning the name Alan Wicker gives your age, and mine, away.

Best Regards
