awwww! bless ...

I was told today that I sound so young on the phone, told in chat here that I come across like a young person ... what a massive disappointment for people when they actually meet me

When I'm introduced to people I don't know they can't believe I am retired and past my mid-60s--I'm generally taken as upper 50s.

Not generally asked for ID though...

I am 47 and a lot of people said I look younger, but I have a young outlook on life too, hence my user name on the forum

I'm nearly 26 & every time I've gone to buy alcohol in the last year I've been asked for ID
I take it as a compliment but the ironic thing is, when I was 16-17 I always looked the oldest & got sent into places to get served for everyone!
10 years ago they served me no question, now they won't!

The silliest was when I was buying a 1994 bottle of vintage port at Waitrose. Checkout lady asked me for ID - what 17yrs olds go get drunk at the park on vintage port??!

I frequently get pegged at 24/25 when in fact I am an old codger of 30. A while ago I was in Tesco's and was asked for ID by the till weasel, I laughed like a drain and produced it with a grin on my face stating that "Don't you worry young man, It's a compliment."

Conversely, My online persona gets pegged at about 50ish.

I like that, the looks of a youth and the mind of a geezer. nice

I can always remember a few years ago in ibiza we were walking down the road in the resort and there were people handing out fliers about the local bars. My sons who were 13 and 12 at the time got handed them and they completely ignored me

I got ID'd for superglue once..... tried to point out to the shop assistant that the only thing sniffing superglue would get you is your nostrils stuck together but she was too stupid to understand.

Was that me, or is there more than one?
I was quite suprised to hear your age when I first came across you

Staff at my work are surprised to discover how old I am, however after submitting my pic to 10 years younger .com for a confidence boost, and getting a reality check, I removed the picture immediately.

When I was in my late teens and going to work on the bus I was so embarrassed when often given a child's half fare by mistake.
Now I am 70 and at the other end of the life span I find that looking younger has it's benefits.

Yeah when I was 15/16 I always looked the oldest so was always asked to buy people's cigs/drink/go first in a queue to get into a club. But these days I'm guaranteed to get asked for my age. When I say 21 they usually leave me alone then though!
