My fridge has gone off and I don’t know why! I’m guessing it could be due to the cold weather but not entirely sure. What can I possibly do to fix-it myself, or does anybody know of a good (but affordable) repairer?

Cheers

Unlikely to be anything to do with the weather, unless you keep it outside

The only practical thing you can do yourself is check the fuse. (is the light coming on?)

I don't know where you are but we had a power cut this morning for 45 minutes up until 9am in my part of woodseats, which could easily have caused a problem like a fuse going in the plug.

You could well be right and it is to do with the cold (weather). When I got my new one a few years ago I happened to notice that it had to be kept at a certain temperature, as going below could cause a malfunction. Made me laugh initially as it seemed odd to keep a fridge warm, so it can keep things cold. Ever since then though I have ensured that it's tucked up nicely

Hope that helps ya a bit.

Quite a few of the newer models of fridge have had a similar sort of "Problem", where the customer has bought a replacement for one stored (And working quite adequately) in a garage, or unheated utility room. The newer models don't like to work in lower temperatures, unfortunately.

They are so cheap to replace these days that a call out charge that might not solve the problem would go a long way towards a new fridge.

If its in a cold place , it won't work because the thermastat wont switch it on because it thinks the fride is cold enough. And turning the fridge over wont help.
