hi was just wondering if anyone had used these for their own home and what they were like?
we had a quote yesterday but am still not sure as the price seems too good to be true which usually means it is!!! they contacted by phoneing us from the phonebook so that also makes me a little wary have had fingers burnt before with dodgy companies so just wanted some feedback.

also any advice on how i can check the company is legit and the best way to pay so i won't loose all my money would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

Not used them but on the Rogue Traders programmes and other like it, they always say don't use companies that have phoned you. Any decent company will be busy so don't need to phone for their new customers.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies

think my gut feeling was right, we're not going to use them, no one has heard of them at all so that can't be a good sign and you both have very valid points.
thankyou

If you mean 'First Step Trust', there's a reason they are cheaper and it's not because they are dodgy. It's an organisation which gives people who have been off sick a long time the chance to get back into work by building up their skills and experience and confidence. Although I don't know a huge amount about them, they are not a rogue company at all, in fact they do good work. I thought I'd just point that out because a lot of the comments will appear very unfair.

They're based on London Road.

Good of you to point all this out; however I strongly doubt that a company doing such noble work would also be cold-calling random people asking them to become customers. I suspect that whoever called the OP is not this company.

it was definitley first stop, i think they would have mentioned if they were a special organisation in the consultation anyway. all i can find is this-

which doesn't fill me with confidence, so im gonna steer clear. I don't know how some people sleep at night ripping people off, i really don't.
