Gety some software like Audacity (its free) and then find a way of connecting your tape player amplifier to your PC input. I bought a lead from Rotherham PC shop for about £2. Depends on your PC and amp I suppose.
and what fox said

If you check Firebox you can actually get an internal tape deck for a PC now!

Poppins you will probably have a dvdr deck and a play deck (| know what I mean)
My bottom tray is the one I play things in. Your PC is very clever you know, put it in and it should start the appropriate programme for you.

I use a denon cassette deck into the computer's line input and nero wave editor to capture the audio.
It then saves it as an MP3 file.
Music quality would be fairly poor but for audio books it's fine.

LOL that the technical term pops?
youll have prolly a cd writer and a dvdrom
try putting an audio cd in 1....prolly only 1 will be connected tot he soundcard though, it should start playing in windows media player, if it does but theres no sound, close it and try the cd in the other tray
also there should be a speaker icon near the clock in the "task tray" in there you can change the volume etc, aswell as mute various sound items for your puter

1. Pick up cassette tape.
2. Carry over to PC.
3. Place cassette on top of PC.
