I know! I'm debating whether to brave it, do need to go to work, but can work from home until it clears a bit. Anyone have any idea whether it'll get any better (drier, not bothered about the wind)?

Yes I think today would be a good time to have a "Duvet Day" actually. It's pretty diabolical here as well. We have a flat roof and it keeps sounding as though it's going to lift off
I don't like wind

ive just come down the M1 just after 8am and all the traffic slowed to about 30mph when we had a downpour. Very difficult to see anything.

The weather forecast this morning suggested that it would be drier from about lunchtime. I considered working from home today too, but made the mistake of coming in and consequently discovering that my shoes leak

It's awful isn't it? It said on the news that there are gusts of wind of upto 73mph in some places and if it was continuous winds, it could be classed as a hurricane! Scary stuff!
I'm at home today with a throat infection so get to stay in all day apart from being blown up to the doctors and back

We live in Yorkshire, mostly on top of big hills. It is a bit windy and damp. This happens many times every year so stop making a fuss about nothing.

I don't think the people that this weather has really affected would call it "nothing"

Can tell that you're a man.
Try looking fantastic before you leave to work and turning up absolutley drenched with twigs in your hair, and mascara down your cheeks

my daughter rang me when she was half way to school, could she come home, she was drenched and scared, when my son set off it was very dark and pouring it down also very windy i nearly called him back ,but he carried on, i dont like my kids being off school unless they are ill but this morning i would have gladly let them stay off, my daughter eventually arrived back home soaked to the skin, in a right state, sadly ive got to brave it shortly myself great!
