Never had any problems in any of the parks i have been in, what i find is that if use any area at the same time on day regular basis you and your dog will get to know others. And as 95% of dog walkers in parks are responsible owners, you will soon find out who and what dogs to avoid if any.
It will help if you state what area of Sheffield you are thinking of taking the dog/s walking, then others will be able to advise.

We do Graves Park and Endcliffe Park quite frequently

we use hilsborough park quite alot and bole hills, h'boro is nice because of the lake and bole hills is nice as it all different, not just neatly mowed lawns.
