since you say this is an age thing - could it not just maybe have something to do with mondays being a student night?

I remember seeing 'old' people during my clubbing years; to me there was always something inherently odd about wanting to hang about with people young enough to be your kids.....
I know exactly what you mean..went out last night and saw women of about this age, maybe older, stripping and screaming and picking each other up in varsity..i was highly embarrased for them! Also, they had one guy in thier party who must have been about 18/19. I'm sure it was one of their sons!

Ah well, if you mean that kind of elderly 'clubber', then I concur. I was thinking we were talking more about the seasoned clubber who's been there since acid house days and beyond, and still loves the thump of a 4/4 kick drum.

I... ahem... believe such people exist.

labels and the cost of your gear (fact). plus it's not that good a club because most of the people they do let in are hopelessly shallow and boring, in my experience.

find yourself a nicer club in future.

They don't let mutton dressed as lamb in.

put your baggy jumper back on grandma and face the fact that you are old.

Any proper dance club probably wouldnt be too bothered about someones age -as long as they werent going to cause trouble - but GC hasnt been a proper dance club for many a year. Their main target audience is pretty mainstream with aspirations as to somehow being cutting edge - but clearly as about as cutting edge as Meadowhell.

Yeah I know. I was just explaining the reason why people of a certain age may still love throwing shapes in the church of dance. I agree - Gatecrasher isn't worth your time people!

Looking at your comments I’d label you as a kingdom person, cheap clothes and tack

p.s republic is a fantastic venue

p.p.s what’s wrong with spending money on yourself to make you look nice!!

thats very harsh. you know nothing about the poster. i'm a dj and a clubber and i don't go to gatecrasher anymore because quite simply its not about the music anymore. its full of hairdressers and shop assistants who regard themselves as being a cut above and look down their nose at people. also crasher isn't crasher anymore. all the people who made it crasher now have mortgages and responsible jobs and have moved on. the glory days of 98-01 are long gone. crasher is as corporate as kingdom

Completley (sp) agree. Mark my bf was one of the Cyber Kids back in the late 90's and he used to love it. It was a place where you went and just had an amazing night now it's who can look the prettiest with a V&T in your hand. (usually me of course)

i'm thinking maybe you were prevented entry because it was a student night and you don't look like your average student.

on saying that the bouncers can be 'awkward' at the best of times
