I must admit, this evening was the first time I noticed this...

Coming up from Beighton, tootling along at 30mph up the hill, over the last of the speed bumps and there's the 40mph sign, as normal. "Funny", I thought. "I thought they were lowering the speed limit on here because of the new school?"

Sure enought, around 400m further on, they have lowered the speed limit because of the new school.

Streetf{o|a}rce: why didn't you do the obvious thing and just remove the 40mph sign and leave the speed limit at 30 all the way from Beighton rather than allowing it back up then reducing it again? Or, is it a sneaky underhand move whereby a speed camera partnership van will appear in the new 30mph zone within the next few days waiting to catch someone who's only seen the 40mph sign? (The last bit was said with a dose of tongue in cheek - I doubt that's the real reason, but the whole move seems a tad daft).

sounds about right for sheffield city council!


bring back south yorkshire county council

at least they did things right!
