I am starting college in september and i need to open a bank account.
Can anybody on here recommend a good bank for me, which will offer me the best rates and benefits?
Thank you in anticipation.

NatWest were doing a 5 Yr. rail card deal for Uni students IIRC, meanwhile HSBC were doing great interest rates and offering a Mastercard too. I don't like HSBC.

It may have changed, but a couple of years ago HSBC was the best.
Reason being they gave you a no quibbles overdraft, whereas Natwest you have to apply for one, and reapply each year.
